Skateboarder at Bridgespot Skatepark

Skater at Bridgespot

November 27, 2010 by Thad Allender

I had a good day riding at the Bridgespot make-shift skatepark south of the U.S. Capitol underneath the 395 overpass, despite the windy and chilly 40-degree weather.  The light breaks through nearby buildings from 4:00 to 4:15 p.m, bathing the concrete pillars in warm light and dark shadows.

Latino Auto Sales sign

Latino Auto Sales

November 24, 2010 by Thad Allender

President Obama was in my hood today volunteering at Martha’s Table, a local non-profit and soup kitchen.  I, along with hundreds of my neighbors, crowded the sidewalks hoping for a photo of the prez.  Directly in front of me, the Presidential motorcade sat idle.  Behind me, an old-school neon sign flickered as dusk arrived.  Say cheese Latino Auto Sales sign, cause you trump Obama today.
