Winter is upon us in Washington, D.C. Three days of thirty-degree weather has me wanting to head south.

I had a good day riding at the Bridgespot make-shift skatepark south of the U.S. Capitol underneath the 395 overpass, despite the windy and chilly 40-degree weather. The light breaks through nearby buildings from 4:00 to 4:15 p.m, bathing the concrete pillars in warm light and dark shadows.

President Obama was in my hood today volunteering at Martha’s Table, a local non-profit and soup kitchen. I, along with hundreds of my neighbors, crowded the sidewalks hoping for a photo of the prez. Directly in front of me, the Presidential motorcade sat idle. Behind me, an old-school neon sign flickered as dusk arrived. Say cheese Latino Auto Sales sign, cause you trump Obama today.
