I’m currently working on EcoHome.co, a new software platform that creates personalized roadmaps to help people make their homes healthier, more comfortable, and more affordable. If you’ve ever struggled with understanding the home renovation process, or navigating state/federal incentive programs, this platform is for you.
I’m working on this project with my friend (and Kansan) Brad Johnsmeyer. As co-founder, I’m handling the CTO duties, building it using Laravel, Livewire, and Tailwind. Brad is leading the marketing efforts (CMO). We’re having a blast!
Some of the most unique features that we’ve developed include:
- Algorithm for providing rough “instant” estimates for 50+ home renovation projects in every major city in the US.
- Created an AI tool for home design to help visualize design options to for home exteriors and interiors. You basically upload an image of your home and
- Homebuilding guides to help homeowners better understand what the homebuilding and renovation processes looks like.
- Home renovation calculators to help homeowners know what they can afford.
- Help homeowners find home renovation contractors nearby to make home renovation projects easy and stress-free.
The platform’s user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of both the frontend and backend dashboards are custom-designed. They make use of widely-respected and cutting-edge tools and technologies in today’s web development landscape:
- Laravel – web development framework for php artisans
- Livewire – full-stack framework for Laravel
- Tailwind – utility-first CSS framework
- Vapor – serverless deployment platform
- AWS – serverless hosting
- Stripe – payment processing
- Pusher – real-time notifications
Brad and I combined our real-life homebuilding experiences with cutting-edge technology to create a platform that simplifies and streamlines the process. Our goal is to give homeowners the tools and resources needed to take control of their project and make informed decisions every step of the way.
We’re passionate about helping homeowners make smarter and greener choices. Did you know residential energy use contributes to 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.? Let’s make a real difference together!
Now, here’s where you come in: If you’ve been thinking about a home renovation, or just want to explore what we’ve built, we’d be honored to have you as our first beta users. Your honest feedback is invaluable! Share your thoughts through this feedback form: bit.ly/ecohome-feedback.
I can’t wait to hear what you think.
